National Unity Weekend 2026 - Spanish

Dear Linden Families,

As we enter the final 11 days of the 2025-2026 school year, I am filled with immense pride as I reflect on all that our students, staff, and families have accomplished together. Our students have shown up and continued to ROAR, living our mission and vision every single day. From Prom and 8th-grade dances to track and field, All-City Music, the 8th-grade play, Senior Scholarship Night, passing IB courses, achieving academic success in and out of the classroom, and winning the Mayor's Cup History competition, we are closing out the school year strong. We are equally proud of our faculty and staff for their unwavering support and guidance throughout this journey. Together, we have demonstrated that a rigorous, supportive, and innovative learning experience develops confident, compassionate, and capable learners who are prepared for college, careers, and life. #LPS_ShowUpandROAR

Monday, June 8, brings our PreK Moving Up Celebrations, reminding us that every educational journey begins with curiosity, wonder, and the support of caring educators and families. That evening, we celebrate our NJROTC Awards Night and Cadet Change of Command Ceremony, recognizing our cadets for their outstanding leadership, dedication, and service at LHS.

Tuesday, June 9, we celebrate students earning the Seal of Biliteracy, recognizing their proficiency in two or more languages and the strength of our multilingual programming. On Wednesday, June 11, we honor our Kindergarten Moving Up Celebration, and on Friday, June 12, we celebrate our 5th Grade Moving Up Celebration as these students transition to middle school. From my experience as a middle school principal, they come in needing a babysitter and leave being a babysitter, signifying the tremendous growth they will make.

Linden High School Final Exams begin Tuesday, June 10, through June 16. Early dismissal without lunch will be in effect for Linden High School students only during exam days. We expect our seniors and underclassmen to ROAR as they demonstrate the knowledge and skills developed throughout the year.

The upcoming week is a testament to our students' dedication, our educators' commitment, and the support of our families and community. Every moving up celebration tells a story of growth, perseverance, and the power of quality education. Enjoy these celebrations. They are well-earned moments of pride for our entire district.

Dear Linden Families,

This message brings two important updates from the Office of the Superintendent.

A New Home for Our Youngest Learners

On behalf of the Linden Board of Education, President Malaysia Thomas shares, "This new building signifies growth and endless opportunities for our students and staff. With a growing population, we are not reactive; we are proactive. Linden Public Schools is a place you can call home, and we are proud to expand that home."

The Linden Board of Education has executed a letter of intent to occupy a new Early Childhood Facility for the 2026 to 2027 school year. The facility is located at 1 Paul M. Greig Way, Winfield Park, NJ 07036, the same zip code as Linden, in a community close to home. This expansion directly supports our Pre-K program and reflects our commitment to giving every child a strong start. Our Early Childhood Department will be available to support every family through this transition.

If your family receives a letter about your child's new placement, please know this is good news. This is growth. We believe in our children, our schools, and our community. To hear more, please view the joint message below from Mayor Armstead and me:
Early Childhood Video

In Linden Public Schools, we believe every child deserves to discover their unique potential. This new early childhood building is that belief in action, a place where our youngest learners take their first steps toward becoming future-ready. The best investment a city can make is in its children. Linden is doing just that, and we are just getting started.

Uniform Mode of Dress: What You Need to Know

Linden Public Schools will continue its uniform mode of dress for all students in grades PreK to 12 for the 2026-2027 school year. We have heard the community's feedback, and we appreciate it. This decision remains in place. Last year, the Board of Education provided every student with 4 complimentary shirts as part of the initiative's initial launch. That distribution will not continue.

Per Board Policy 5511, Student Dress and Grooming, an evaluation of the uniform mode of dress will be reviewed annually with the Building Principal and Uniform Ad hoc Committee. Recommendations were provided to the Board of Education Members at the April 28, 2026, Board of Education Meeting. The Board of Education fully supports the continuation of the Student Dress and Grooming. All requirements are outlined in Board Policy 5511, Student Dress and Grooming, and are available on our district website at:
LPS Board Policy

Families are encouraged to review the policy to ensure students are prepared for the first day of school for the 2026-2027 school year. Please contact your child’s Principal with questions.
