Wayfinding, Wonder and Courage Take Center Stage in Soehl Middle School's Moana Jr.
LINDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, NJ -- On June 4 and 5, the Soehl Middle School Drama Club transported audiences across the Pacific Ocean with two captivating performances of Disney's Moana Jr., a musical adventure that celebrated courage, identity, and the power of believing in oneself.
Under the direction and production leadership of Joe Moschella, student performers brought the beloved Disney story to life through memorable musical numbers, energetic choreography, colorful costumes, and heartfelt performances that earned enthusiastic applause from family members, friends, and staff.
At the center of the production was Heidy Yanes, who portrayed Moana, the determined young voyager chosen to embark on a perilous journey to save her island and uncover the truth about her heritage. Along the way, she was joined by the legendary demigod Maui, portrayed by Emmanuella De Souza, whose larger-than-life personality and evolving friendship with Moana helped drive the story's themes of perseverance, leadership, and self-discovery.
As the adventure unfolded, audiences followed the pair through challenges that tested their courage and character, while learning valuable lessons about responsibility, selflessness, and finding the strength within to overcome obstacles.
While the student cast shined under the spotlight, the production's success was equally the result of a dedicated team working behind the scenes.
