LINDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, N.J. — More than 700 Linden High School students were recognized for academic achievement and outstanding attendance during the school’s third marking period recognition ceremony, where applause, cheers, and a celebratory breakfast filled the cafeteria as students received certificates honoring their success.

A total of 706 students earned recognition in three categories: Principal’s Honor Roll for achieving all A’s, Honor Roll for earning A’s and B’s, and Perfect Attendance for maintaining a flawless record of daily attendance.

“This is your day, your moment for all of your hard work and dedication,” Principal Charles Koonce told students. “You are the pillars of Linden High School.”

Students were called forward by grade level as classmates, teachers, and staff applauded their accomplishments. The recognition ceremony emphasized not only academic performance, but also the importance of consistency and showing up each day prepared to learn.

“If you are not here, you can’t partake in the learning process,” Koonce said. “Perfect attendance is a great accomplishment, and we honor you for being here every single day.”

The event, held April 30 in the school cafeteria, marked the latest in Linden High School’s quarterly student recognition efforts aimed at reinforcing a culture of achievement, accountability, and pride throughout the building.

School officials said the strong turnout of honorees reflected the dedication of students as well as the support of teachers, staff, and families who continue to encourage high expectations and academic growth.

The students were treated to a breakfast following the ceremony.

Linden High School’s recognition program reflects Linden Public Schools’ broader commitment to academic excellence, student engagement, and reducing chronic absenteeism as outlined in the district’s strategic plan. By celebrating achievement, consistency, and daily participation in the learning process, the ceremony supports the district mission of empowering future-ready learners through growth, collaboration, and meaningful support from educators, families, and the school community.
