LINDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, N.J. — Junior Alan Parra turned in a career performance Monday (May 11), throwing a no-hitter and blasting a two-out inside-the-park grand slam to power Linden Tigers Baseball to a road victory over Perth Amboy Magnet Patriots in Perth Amboy.

Making his first appearance on the mound this season, the versatile junior -- listed as a utility player and pitcher -- struck out eight batters while dominating from start to finish. Mixing speeds and consistently attacking the strike zone, Parra kept Perth Amboy Magnet hitters off balance throughout the game as Linden improved to 6-13 overall and 2-5 in the Union County Conference’s Valley Division.

Parra also delivered the game’s biggest offensive moment, crushing a two-out inside-the-park grand slam that energized the Tigers dugout and helped break the game open. Jimmy Santa Maria added a home run as Linden’s offense backed the historic pitching effort.

“Alan has been a spark plug for the team this year,” said Linden head coach Craig Goldberg. “On the mound, he was able to attack the zone with his fastball, mix speeds, and end up doing something pretty special throwing the no-hitter. It was a great team win for us as we enter an important week.”

The outing marked Parra’s first win of the season and added to an emerging stat line that now includes eight strikeouts, one home run, and four RBIs.

More importantly for the Tigers, the all-around performance provided a surge of momentum as Linden heads into a critical stretch of the season.
