LINDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, NJ -- More than 200 staff members from across Linden Public Schools gathered for an afternoon filled with energy, reflection, and professional growth during the districtโ€™s 3rd Annual Womenโ€™s Wellness Wins Leadership Conference, built around this yearโ€™s theme, โ€œGive to Gain.โ€

The conference centered on a powerful idea. When people invest in themselves while lifting others, everyone benefits. The result was an afternoon of meaningful conversation, shared insight, and renewed purpose among educators across the district.

The event is the vision of Superintendent Dr. Atiya Y. Perkins, who launched the conference to create a space where women across Linden Public Schools can connect, grow professionally, and support one another in their leadership journeys.

Perkins delivered the conferenceโ€™s keynote address, encouraging participants to discover their ROAR: resilience, opportunities, achievement, and relationships, while reminding the audience that time is a nonrenewable resource that must be used with intention and purpose.

Throughout the afternoon, participants moved through a series of engaging breakout sessions exploring topics such as artificial intelligence, health and wellness, and financial literacy. Between sessions, conversations flowed easily as colleagues exchanged ideas and strengthened relationships across schools and departments.

Speakers also reflected on the principles of servant leadership, emphasizing that the most impactful leaders are those who uplift others while also caring for their own well-being.

This yearโ€™s conference also welcomed male allies, who joined the learning sessions and helped celebrate the leadership and contributions of women throughout the district.

Organizers credited the success of the event to the presenters, participants, and community partners who helped make the day possible, including Pomptonian Food Service, which supported the program.

Now in its third year, the Womenโ€™s Wellness Wins Leadership Conference continues to grow as a signature Linden Public Schools tradition, creating space for leadership, wellness, and connection while reminding participants that when one person rises, the entire community rises with them.
