LINDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, N.J. โ Linden High School senior Daryl Agyei officially signed to continue his football career at University of New Haven during a National Signing Day ceremony Feb. 4 in the schoolโs Information Commons.
A senior offensive and defensive lineman, Agyei earned the opportunity to compete at the Division I level through consistent performance, discipline and leadership, according to Linden officials.
Agyeiโs senior season reflected that next-level readiness. He recorded 63 total tackles, seven sacks and 13 tackles for loss, anchoring Lindenโs line on both sides of the ball.
โThose numbers reflect his strength, discipline and relentless effort,โ said Michael Firestone, Lindenโs director of athletics. โBut beyond the statistics, Daryl is a competitor, a leader and a teammate who represents this program the right way.โ
Agyeiโs signing carries added significance as New Haven recently elevated its football program to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Chargers previously competed in Division II as members of the Northeast-10 Conference before officially joining the Northeast Conference on July 1, 2025.
Surrounded by family, coaches, teammates and administrators, Agyei finalized his commitment, marking a milestone shaped by years of preparation and support from Linden Athletics and the broader school community.
Located in West Haven, Connecticut, the University of New Haven sponsors 20 varsity athletic programs and competes in the Northeast Conference at the FCS level. The football programโs move to Division I signals increased national visibility and heightened competition, placing Agyei on a larger collegiate stage as he prepares for the next chapter of his academic and athletic career.
