LINDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, NJ โ- Itโs playoff season in Linden.
Both the Linden High School varsity football and girlsโ volleyball teams are headed into postseason action.
The Tigers football team, led by Head Coach Mark Ciccotelli, will face top-seeded Bridgewater-Raritan in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 5 Quarterfinals on Friday, Oct. 31, at 6 PM. Linden (3โ6, 1โ3 Big CentralโLiberty Gold) has battled through adversity this season, earning its playoff spot with resilience and steady improvement each week.
โEach and every week, weโve gotten better,โ Ciccotelli said after the Tigersโ Homecoming win on Oct. 10. โThereโs no quit in these kids. Thereโs a lot of character in this team, in this city.โ
That never-quit mentality will again be tested as Linden takes on Bridgewater-Raritan (6โ3, 1โ3 Big CentralโAmerican Silver) under the lights this Friday.
Meanwhile, the Linden girlsโ varsity volleyball team is also preparing for postseason play. Under Head Coach Mark Radil, the Tigers (3โ20, 1โ11 UCCโMountain Division) will travel to face Phillipsburg in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 Tournament First Round on Monday, Nov. 3.
