𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 was a beautiful mix of new beginnings and familiar rhythms. From the quiet hum of early morning classrooms to the joyful chaos of afternoon dismissals, Linden Public Schools came alive — powered by the people who make every moment matter.
Each morning felt like a living portrait of community. Students poured into the district’s 11 schools by bus, car, bicycle, scooter, and on foot — backpacks swinging, sneakers pounding, voices buzzing with anticipation. Crossing guards offered cheerful waves, secretaries welcomed families by name, and custodians gave every hallway a gleaming shine.
And everywhere, there was something new: students dressed in crisp district-wide uniforms, proudly embraced across every grade level. The vibrant sea of orange, black, and blue was more than clothing — it was a shared expression of belonging and pride.

Superintendent Dr. Atiya Y Perkins spent the week visiting schools in a high-energy tour that began the week before. From bustling hallways to lively classrooms, she greeted students, teachers, and staff with hugs, handshakes, and high-fives, bringing joy and encouragement everywhere she went.
“No matter where I went, I saw hope and excitement in our students’ eyes,” Dr. Perkins said. “From our littlest learners to our graduating seniors, everyone is ready to ROAR this year.”
Her visits reflected the district’s R.O.A.R. vision — Resilience, Opportunities, Achievement, and Relationships — setting a tone of connection and purpose for the year ahead.
