lps cheer

Often operating behind the scenes and without the same recognition afforded to other sports, cheerleaders are the silent drivers of our school’s energy and pride. While athletes on the field and court receive the loudest cheers, it's the cheerleaders who ignite and sustain that enthusiasm. They’re leaders, rallying the crowd and setting the tone for what it means to show Tiger passion and pride. Rain or shine, win or lose, they show up — not just to cheer, but to inspire, uplift, and unify our student body.

Cheerleading is far more than sideline support. Our cheerleaders create a sense of belonging and spirit that resonates far beyond the gym or stadium. In the LPS Cheer Appreciation video, Dr. Perkins states, “Not everyone has someone in the stands cheering them on, but we can embrace that there is a group of students who is rooting for one’s success. Imagine a feeling of knowing there’s a group who wants to push you and believes in you.”

From the opening kick off at Tiger Stadium to rumbling bleachers in gymnasiums, their commitment is year-round, demanding both physical endurance and emotional strength. These athletes are disciplined in a dynamic sport that demands a high level of athleticism, leadership, and perseverance. All of the executed stunts and mastered routines are due to the countless dedicated hours as they maintain a visible and positive presence at events throughout the year. Their voice is a foundational element of the LPS experience.

Our cheerleaders are instrumental in bridging the gap between sports, students, and community, embodying what it means to be proud of where we come from. They don’t just cheer for touchdowns and victories — they cheer for us all. It’s time we return the favor by recognizing their effort, undeniable resilience, and the vital role they play in the heart of Linden. As the fall season quickly approaches, remember to give them a welcoming ROAR as you pass them on the field and courts.
