When it comes to preparing students for a future without borders, Linden Public Schools isn’t just talking the talk—it’s walking it across continents.

In a proud milestone for the district, 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧-𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬, has been invited to serve as a keynote speaker at the prestigious 2025 Healthy Sports Smart City Forum 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐢 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐢 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐧,, taking place May 17–30, 2025.

Orelien-Armstead is 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐤𝐞𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟖, titled “Transforming Education with AI: Opportunities and Challenges,” to an audience of more than 180 elementary and middle school educators from across Asia. Her presentation will explore emerging trends in American education, with a focus on bilingual instruction and world language development—areas where she has led transformative initiatives within Linden’s schools.

This isn’t Orelien-Armstead’s first time presenting on this timely topic. Last fall, she was the featured speaker at a Montclair State University conference focused on AI integration in education.

There, she delivered the same keynote, offering a comprehensive look at how AI technologies are reshaping classrooms nationwide. She highlighted both the benefits and challenges of AI, emphasizing its potential to personalize learning, streamline administrative tasks, and empower educators with cutting-edge tools.

But her upcoming visit to Taiwan is more than a speaking engagement—it’s a reflection of how Linden Public Schools is expanding its global footprint and shaping students into international citizens.

Orelien-Armstead’s international recognition is no surprise to those who’ve witnessed her innovative work firsthand. In the 2024–2025 school year, she spearheaded a virtual international exchange program connecting Linden High School with partner schools in Wenzhou and Zhejiang Province, China.

Through this forward-thinking collaboration, students participate in weekly Zoom sessions led by LHS Mandarin teacher Lin Lin Hu. Together, they engage in peer tutoring—exchanging lessons in English and Mandarin—while also working on shared cultural projects. The result is more than language acquisition; it’s an immersive, student-led experience that builds empathy, leadership, and global awareness.

Orelien-Armstead’s invitation to speak in Taiwan is part of a larger international forum focused on AI innovation, sports technology, and the transformation of education. She will share the stage with mayors, superintendents, and education leaders from around the world, reinforcing Linden’s growing reputation for progressive, globally connected education.

“This is more than an honor for me personally,” said Orelien-Armstead. “It’s a powerful reflection of what we are building here in Linden: a future-ready, globally connected school system. Our students deserve every opportunity to lead and succeed on the world stage—and this is just the beginning.”

Superintendent Dr. Atiya Y. Perkins called the invitation a proud moment for the district.

“Danie Orelien-Armstead’s selection as an international keynote speaker is a testament to the caliber of leadership and innovation we have in Linden,” said Perkins. “We are incredibly proud of her work and the global opportunities she continues to create for our students.”

As the world becomes more connected, Linden Public Schools continues to push boundaries, preparing students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive—wherever in the world their journey takes them.
