LINDEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, NJ -- Last month Soehl Middle School dove deep into the world of physics with their 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞!
After learning about forces and friction’s impact on motion, they are now 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 – what it is and how to calculate it!
During a hands-on experiment, students used spring scales to move a cart, quickly realizing that one spring scale wasn't enough. They put their problem-solving skills to the test by teaming up and combining forces, calculating the total force needed to get the cart moving. They even experimented with different amounts of force on each side, discovering that a Net Force of zero meant the cart stayed still!
𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐭𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐘. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, witnessing firsthand how students collaborated, calculated, and eagerly shared their findings to deepen their understanding.
Learning Physics = Problem Solving + Teamwork + Fun!
